Complaints
At Rileys Solicitors we are committed to providing great legal service to all our clients. If you are not happy with the service we have provided then please contact enquiries@rileyssolicitors.co.uk as well as details of our complaints policy below.
We believe in providing an exceptional legal service to all our clients. However, we appreciate that there may be occasions that you might be unhappy or concerned about something that may have happened in your case. If this does happen then we need you to tell us about it so we can do our best to resolve the problem and review our standards.
Steps to take to resolve any concerns
- Contact either your legal advisor that is in charge of your case, or their supervising manager (details of which will have been provided to you in your initial letter). If you call them you may be asked to set out the details of your complaint in writing either by email or letter.
- Your complaint will be reviewed and we will contact you within 7 days of receiving your letter or email to discuss with you how to resolve your complaint.
- Should your complaint not be resolved then the matter would move to Step Two.
If you request to have your Complaint escalated to Step Two, then your complaint will be sent to the Principle Director, Nafisa Ismail who is the partner responsible for monitoring all complaints received by the firm.
Within seven days of your request we will send you a letter acknowledging your complaint and set out the timescale not exceeding a maximum of eight weeks within which we expect to complete our investigation and provide you with a substantive response.
We may contact you during the course of this review to clarify any aspect of your complaint or to seek any additional information which may assist in fully understanding your concerns. If we are unable to complete our review within eight weeks then we will inform you as soon as possible and provide a revised timescale for a response.
Once a full review is completed we will provide a written response to your complaint. This will explain whether your complaint has been upheld (fully or partly) and the reasons for the decision based on the evidence available.
In the event that your complaint is upheld we will provide an apology, an explanation and steps taken or to be taken to resolve the issues or payment of compensation.
In the event that you remain dissatisfied you have the right to refer your complaint to the Legal Ombudsman. A complaint to the Legal Ombudsman should be made within six months of your last contact with this firm and no more than six years from the date of act or omission or not more than three years from when you should reasonably have known there was a cause for complaint.
